Auburn staffer hired by Florida, reunites with Billy Napier

Joshua Thompson is reuniting with Billy Napier.
Florida announced Thompson as its new director of football operations on Friday. He arrives from Auburn, where he held the same title for Bryan Harsin’s program.

Thompson has familiarity working in the SEC and with Napier. A Fort Worth, Texas native, Thompson worked in recruiting, personnel and operations at Texas A&M, his alma mater, from 2010-17. In 2018, Thompson was on Napier’s Louisiana staff as director of recruiting and football logistics. He then returned to the SEC, joining Arkansas as the program’s executive director of recruiting and player personnel in May 2019, holding that position before departing for Auburn in January 2021.
