Barack Obama, the former United States president, was among the millions and millions of sports fans who watched Super Bowl LVII on Sunday evening.
The former president watched as Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles put forth an incredible effort, but ultimately came up short against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
On Monday morning, Barack Obama took to Twitter to congratulate the Chiefs on the victory, but he also added praise for the Eagles and Hurts specifically:
Congratulations to the Kansas City @Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid for a great Super Bowl win and for sustained excellence. And shout out to the @Eagles and Jalen Hurts—outstanding competitors with a bright future.

That’s a great honor for the former Alabama star, but the Eagles would certainly have rather been in the first sentence of Obama’s tweet congratulating the winners.
One thing is for sure — Hurts established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL with his efforts on Sunday evening against the Chiefs.
