Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl is excited for ESPN’s trip to The Plains. College GameDay will broadcast from Auburn Arena ahead of the Tigers’ game against Texas A&M.

“When ESPN could go anywhere in the country to televise college basketball, they have chosen Auburn,” Pearl told Jeff Shearer of AuburnTigers.com. “We feel fortunate and blessed.”

Auburn has designated the contest against Texas A&M as its “AUTLIVE” game. AUTLIVE is Auburn’s fight against cancer. When GameDay announced it was coming to Auburn, Pearl shared that Auburn would be recognizing ESPN’s Dick Vitale, who is undergoing cancer treatment. Vitale has been sidelined for the rest of the 2021-22 season due to dysplasia in his vocal cords.

“My dream is to walk out to the arena on Saturday and see every single person in the building with an AUTLIVE t-shirt on,” Pearl said on the team website.

GameDay is set to broadcast at 10 a.m. CT with tip-off against Texas A&M at 11 a.m. CT. No. 1 Auburn had its 19-game winning streak snapped in a loss at Arkansas this week. Pearl said that doesn’t change the team’s plan for Saturday.

“Our deal is the same as it’s always been,” Pearl told Shearer. “We’ve got to get better and see if we can win. We’ve got some work to do to play better.”
