Chas Nirmod has entered the Catch of the Year conversation.
In the 2nd quarter of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry clash between Auburn and No. 1 Georgia, the Tiger wide receiver made an unbelievable touchdown catch in the end zone to bring AU within 1 of the Bulldogs. Auburn’s extra point was true, tying things up 14-14 in Athens.
Nimrod’s catch is undoubtedly one of the best we’ll see this college football season.

A fifth-year receiver, Nimrod is in his first season at Auburn, but the 6-2, 200-pounder has all kinds of familiarity with Tigers coach Alex Golesh. Nimrod began his college football career at 2022, where Golesh was offensive coordinator. In 2024, Nimrod transferred to USF for a reunion with Golesh, who was the head coach of the Bulls. When Golesh took the Auburn job, Nimrod followed him to The Plains for a return to the SEC.
In the first half Saturday’s rivalry showdown, Nirmrod had 3 catches on 5 targets with 1 drop, recording 24 receiving yards and the highlight touchdown. Keshaun Singleton leads Auburn receivers with 30 receiving yards on 2 receptions (4 targets, 1 drop).
