Cayden Lee revealed on Saturday that he has entered the transfer portal. Whether or not he ends up back in Oxford, Lee will be in high demand by a number of programs across the country.

Lee, on Saturday afternoon, posted a message to his X account addressing his decision.

“Leaving Ole Miss was never even a consideration, but circumstances beyond my control have prompted me to take this path as I consider my senior season,” he said. “I am walking in faith and asking God to order my steps accordingly.”

While Lee doesn’t go into specifics, it comes in the middle of the Trinidad Chambliss situation. Chambliss was denied a waiver for a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA and filed a lawsuit against them on Friday.

Per reports, though Lee is entering the transfer portal, that’s to leave his options open in case Chambliss’s efforts to play for a sixth year ultimately fail. According to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, “the expectation is” that Lee will withdraw his name from the portal and finish out his college career in Oxford if Chambliss is allowed to return in 2026. Chambliss has already committed to play his sixth year — if granted — at Ole Miss.

Over the past two seasons, Lee has recorded 1,509 yards. In 2025, his 635 yards were fourth among Rebels wide receivers.
