Chris Brazzell, former Tennessee WR, suffers leg injury at Panthers practice

Former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver and 2026 third-rounder Chris Brazzell II suffered a left leg injury while practicing with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday, according to head coach Dave Canales.
The Panthers have been holding Brazzell out of recent practices as the former Tennessee star deals with left ankle soreness, and Wednesday was his first day back on the turf. According to The Athletics” Joe Person, Brazzell did not put any weight on his left leg after going down in 7-on-7s and had to be carted off the field. Some reports indicate the injury was non-contact, though that has not been confirmed.
Obviously, an ACL tear is always the worry when dealing with a potential non-contact injury. We’ll know more soon as Brazzell is currently undergoing imaging tests on his left knee.
Brazzell was selected with the No. 83 pick of the 2026 Draft after spending 2 seasons at Tulane and 2 seasons on Rocky Top. Across his college career, Brazzell totaled 2,072 receiving yards with 16 receiving touchdowns, 9 of which came during his final season at Tennessee.
That final season at Tennessee was something special. He broke out as the Vols’ leading receiving threat, totaling 62 receptions for 1,017 yards and 9 touchdowns. His most memorable performance was a 177-yard, 3-touchdown outing against Georgia.
