Cincinnati veteran receiver loves what he’s seen from former Tennessee WR Josh Malone

Usually, the Cincinnati Bengals only carry six receivers on their active roster.
However, thanks to former Tennessee star Josh Malone, the Bengals may have to reconsider that policy heading into the 2017 season.
According to Bengals.com, veteran WR Brandon LaFell likes what he sees in the ex-Volunteer, saying he believes Malone can be a special player someday:
“He’s got a lot of talent. A lot of raw talent,” said LaFell. “He can run. He’s got size. He just needs to polish up a few things, his route running. Just polish up that and get a little stronger in the weight room he can get out there and block some of these guys. But he’s got what you can’t teach. You can’t teach that size and that speed and the way he’s able to track the ball the way. He’s going to be good.”
In addition to LaFell and Malone, the Bengals are expected to keep star A.J. Green, first-rounder John Ross, Tyler Boyd, Cody Core and Alex Erickson.
With 972 receiving yards in 2016, Malone was the third-leading receiver in the SEC. He had 50 catches, averaging 19.4 yards per catch, and scored an impressive 11 touchdowns.
Though he may not make much of an impact early this season, Malone could be in line to become a bigger part of the Cincinnati offense in the near future.
