A blockbuster Week 5 brought with it plenty of shakeup across the college football landscape, and the latest Coaches Poll reflects that reality.
Alabama’s statement win over Georgia moved the Crimson Tide to the brink of the Top 10, while Ole Miss and Texas A&M benefitted from some losses ahead of them to move into the Top 5. The Rebels are now the league’s highest-ranking team in this poll.
Meanwhile, Texas and Oklahoma slide in at No. 7 and 8 respectively following off weeks, and the Bulldogs are surprisingly still in front of Alabama at No. 10.
Elsewhere, LSU plummeted from 4th to 13th thanks to its defeat at the hands of the Rebels, Tennessee remained static following an overtime win over Mississippi State, Vanderbilt continued its climb ahead of a date with the Tide and Mizzou moved up a spot thanks to a win over UMass and assistance from others.
