The Coaches Poll for Week 7 that was revealed on Sunday afternoon had the same number of SEC teams as last week, with 10 teams from the conference filling up the new top 25.
That list was headlined once again by Ole Miss and Texas A&M, which stayed at No. 4 and 5, respectively. The Rebels enjoyed a bye week in Week 6, while the Aggies took care of Mississippi State on Saturday night to stay unbeaten.
But it was Oklahoma that moved up 2 spots from No. 8 to No. 6 after beating down Kent State to also remain unbeaten. The Sooners were joined in the top 10 of the poll by No. 8 Alabama and No. 9 Georgia, who both took care of business at home in Week 6 to strengthen their cause. That gave the SEC 5 teams in the top 10 of the new Coaches Poll.
That was only the beginning for the SEC though. LSU and Tennessee were just outside the top 10 at No. 11 and No. 12, respectively. Meanwhile, Missouri was at No. 14 as the Tigers get ready to host Alabama on Saturday in 1 of the biggest games of Week 7.
Texas fell 12 spots all the way to No. 19 in the new poll after falling at Florida on Saturday. Finally, Vanderbilt dropped 3 spots to No. 20 after losing its first game of the season on Saturday at Alabama.
