Once again, we have a new No. 1 in this week’s Coaches Poll.
Week 7 was a chaotic one. Five of the top 7 teams in the country fell, including Georgia and Notre Dame — the No. 1 and 2 teams in the country heading into Saturday’s action. The Hurricanes captured a controversial win over Florida State, earning them the No. 1 spot in this week’s rankings, followed by Ohio State (which beat Indiana) and BYU (which knocked off the Fighting Irish).
9 SEC teams are ranked in this week’s poll. Here’s each, in order: Georgia (No. 4), Ole Miss (No. 7), Tennessee (No. 11), Kentucky (No. 12), Alabama (No. 13), LSU (No. 17), Texas (No. 18), Mizzou (No. 21), Florida (No. 24). Auburn and Mississippi State also received votes in this week’s poll.
