The Coaches Poll for Week 8 that was revealed on Sunday afternoon once again had the same number of SEC teams as the week before, with 10 teams from the conference filling up the new top 25.
Ohio State remained at No. 1 after its solid road victory over Illinois on Saturday, while Miami moved up 1 spot to No. 2 while enjoying a bye week. Miami moved up because Oregon lost at home to Indiana, which sent the Ducks tumbling 7 spots to No. 9. Meanwhile, the Hoosiers moved up 4 spots to No. 3 after the huge Big Ten victory.
The highest-ranked SEC team was No. 4 Texas A&M, which took care of Florida at home on Saturday night. The Aggies moved up 1 spot, while Ole Miss moved down 1 spot to No. 5 after struggling to beat Washington State at home.
A run of 4 straight SEC teams in the top 10 continued at No. 6 with Alabama, which went to Columbia and took down previously unbeaten Mizzou on Saturday. Georgia was right behind the Crimson Tide at No. 7 after winning at Auburn on Saturday night. Both Alabama and Georgia moved up 2 spots from last week.
The top 10 was rounded out by No. 8 Texas Tech, aforementioned Oregon at No. 9 and another SEC team, LSU, at No. 10. The Tigers beat South Carolina at home on Saturday night and moved up 1 spot into the top 10.
Tennessee continued the SEC roll call in this top 25, coming in at No. 11 after outlasting Arkansas at home on Saturday. Meanwhile, Oklahoma fell 7 spots to No. 13 after getting beat by rival Texas.
