SEC Network sideline analyst Cole Cubelic gave some insight into the blanket unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that officials threw on Tennessee and Kentucky players Saturday night in Lexington.

A midfield fight during the first half of the game, which Kentucky won 29-26, triggered officials to throw a multitude of penalty flags. But it was the ruling that each player on both teams would receive a penalty that upset and confused many around the college football community.

Multiple players ended up being ejected from the game because of the earlier call on the fight that they may or may not have had anything to do with.

Cubelic was asked about the call on Twitter Sunday by user @dshouse27.

“Have you ever seen an unsportsmanlike penalty against the entire team like last nights UK vs UT game? It was ridiculous,” the fan said.

Cubelic said he’d never seen anything like it — and apparently neither had Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops.
