Since Georgia’s loss in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama, the talk around college football has been about whether or not Kirby Smart replace starting QB Stetson Bennett IV with JT Daniels.

Although Bennett was efficient at quarterback, he did throw 2 interceptions, 1 of them a pick-6, against the Tide.

On “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” Cowherd and FOX sports commentator Joel Klatt discussed whether or not Bennett should have been replaced:

“I think Michigan can beat Georgia,” Cowherd said. “Here’s my issue with Georgia. It’s not the worst thing losing to Bama and playing them again. But I don’t think they (Georgia) can beat Bama with Stetson at quarterback. So I wonder, does Georgia think: ‘Listen, we match up well with Michigan. Let’s give JT Daniels the job back, get him ramped up.’ I wonder what Georgia does at quarterback. I think Michigan matches up OK with them.”

Klatt agreed to a certain extent, but says replacing Bennett now with Daniels may be a bit too risky:

“I think it’s somewhat risky, but I don’t disagree with that,” said Klatt. “I think he’s a much better and efficient passer when you get to the second and third level. … He can make the tight ends much better.”

We will see if Kirby Smart makes a change at quarterback when Michigan faces Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinals on Dec. 31.
