For the first time in 215 days, college football will be on our televisions.

The 2025 season begins on Saturday with an overseas rendition of Farmageddon at noon ET on ESPN. No. 17 Kansas State will face No. 22 Iowa State at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, in a battle of Big 12 contenders. After that, Dan Mullen makes his return to college football as the head coach at UNLV. His Rebels host FCS Idaho State at 4 p.m. ET

Kansas will host Fresno State on FOX in the 6:30 p.m. ET window. The game will see the Jayhawks debut their recently renovated home stadium.

At 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network, Sam Houston and Western Kentucky take part in an early C-USA clash.

Stanford closes out the Week 0 slate with a trip to Hawai’i to battle the Rainbow Warriors. Kickoff from Honolulu is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

The race to the College Football Playoff begins. Maybe there’s a Playoff team to be found amongst Saturday’s Week 0 participants. The heavyweights will take the field next Saturday during a sprawling Week 1 slate.

But this is, at the end of the day, a sport that belongs to everyone, not just the blue bloods. The long offseason is over. Live tackling is back. College football has returned.

And fans of the sport are rejoicing.
