The fourth installment of College Football Playoff rankings will be delayed.
The rankings show was supposed to begin on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. However, due to a conflict, the time has been pushed back. The rankings were due to air following the end of a Maui Invitational game between Seton Hall and USC.
As of 7 p.m. ET, the game between the Pirates and Trojans still has most of the second half to be played. That means college football fans waiting to see the next set of rankings will have to wait a bit longer.
The CFP has confirmed that new rankings won’t air on any ESPN networks until after the conclusion of that game:
If the game goes to overtime, there could be a further delay as well.
After this week’s rankings release, there will only be one more update before the final bracket is announced on the Sunday following conference championship weekend.
There’s still much to be decided up and down the bracket. Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M remain undefeated and are in prime position to have a first-round bye in the CFP this season.
