Notorious Michigan sign-stealer Connor Stalions denies helping South Carolina in their 2022 upset win over Tennessee.

In 2022, Stalions, who was still a Michigan football staff member, bought a ticket to Tennessee’s home game against the Kentucky Wildcats. Stalions’ ticket was close enough to be able to watch the Tennessee sideline and coaching signals, but Stalions did not attend the game.

Instead, he transferred the ticket to an associate of his. Tennessee went on to destroy Kentucky 44-6 and was ranked No. 1 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings a couple of days later. This is important because making the CFP meant that Michigan might face Tennessee.

Three weeks after the Kentucky-Tennessee game, Tennessee lost to South Carolina and dropped out of the CFP picture. That year, the Vols had the number 1 offense in college football and played an up-tempo style on offense. Knowledge of their signs would be a huge help in slowing that offense down.

Yet, Stalions denies ever helping South Carolina in their win against Tennessee.

Oh my gosh. (That is) one of the dozens of conspiracies that are out there,” Stalions said. “I’ve never met anyone at South Carolina. … There was no trying to screw over Tennessee.

Stalions said that if he had Tennessee’s signals, he would’ve kept them for Michigan to use and not given them to South Carolina.
