Coveted transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt lines up visit to ACC school, per report
Former Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt will reportedly take at least one more visit before making a decision on where he will play in 2026.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports that Leavitt will visit Miami on Friday, continuing a recruitment process that has been ongoing for the last week. Leavitt previously visited Kentucky, LSU and Tennessee but has yet to give any indication about where he plans to play quarterback next fall.
Kentucky has already moved on from Leavitt. The Wildcats signed former Notre Dame quarterback Kenny Minchey out of the portal earlier this week.
LSU and Tennessee, though, have uncertain quarterback situation for next season. Barring an NCAA waiver, the Vols will not have Joey Aguilar available in 2026 and would need to acquire a starting quarterback or look for internal solutions. As for the Tigers, Garrett Nussmeier is out of eligibility and backup Michael Van Buren has already committed to South Florida
Where Leavitt ultimately lands will have a big impact on other quarterbacks who are in the transfer portal. Husan Longstreet, Dylan Raiola, Deuce Knight and Beau Pribula are among the potential starters who have yet to sign with a program for next season.
