The Dallas Cowboys certainly want to get the football in the hands of CeeDee Lamb for potential high-impact plays. But that strategy seemingly backfired Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

Lamb appeared to have injured his left ankle on a running back for the Cowboys in the first quarter, taking a handoff out of the backfield before getting rolled up while being tackled by Bears linebacker Noah Sewell.

The former Oklahoma star was helped off the field but returned for another play later in the drive before being attended to on the Dallas sideline without a shoe or sock on. Lamb was later listed as questionable to return.

The Cowboys depth chart behind Lamb is thin, as George Pickens, Jalen Tolbert, KaVonte Turpin and Ryan Flournoy are active for Sunday’s game.

Lamb entered Sunday’s action third in the NFL with 222 receiving yards and fourth in the league with 16 receptions. The carry on which Lamb was injured was his first of 2025, though he has compiled 58 carries for 387 yards in his 6-year NFL career.
