Thanks to an injury to backup QB Kellen Moore, Dak Prescott is now Dallas’ No. 2ย signal caller.

Moore went down with a broken ankle Tuesday, and Prescott was thrust into the role behind only Tony Romo.

โ€œIโ€™ve just got to come in each and every day and get better โ€“ thatโ€™s all Iโ€™m worried about,โ€ Prescott said after practice via DallasCowboys.com. โ€œMy main focus is just to come in and make sure these guys hold me accountable. Iโ€™ll hold them accountable, and Iโ€™ll just be my best each and every practice.โ€

Since Moore’s injury, there’s been talk that Dallas will go out and get a backup QB to replace Moore’s spot on the roster, pushing Prescott back down to at least the No. 3 slot, but for right now, he stands to be the biggest recipient from Moore’s injury.

โ€œEventually I want to be the starter,โ€ he said. โ€œThatโ€™s my mindset โ€“ to come in each and every day and get myself right to the level as close as I can to Romo and learn from him. Thatโ€™s my mindset.โ€
