Dan Mullen wants walk-up songs, so we created one for every SEC head coach

Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen had a great idea on Tuesday.

Upon being introduced on the main stage by Commissioner Greg Sankey, Mullen suggested something that may improve the entertainment factor of SEC Media Days.

“Thank you, Commissioner,” Mullen said. “It’s quiet when you walk up. I think next year we want to add some walk-up music like the baseball games, so as they introduce us … we’ll sit in spring meetings and create our own walk-up music. I got to have the thing behind with ‘Where the Streets Have No Name’ playing from the Joshua Tree Tour this year.”

Thanks for the idea, Dan.

Here’s the music every SEC head coach should walk up to:

Nick Saban, Alabama: “The Imperial March” (Darth Vader’s Theme)

This one is too easy. Lord Saban rules over all.

Bret Bielema, Arkansas: “I Would Do Anything For Love” by Meatloaf

Bielema first told his wife he was an MBA history professor. A close runner up here was “Daughters” by John Mayer, because Bret’s a new father.

Gus Malzahn, Auburn: “Fuel” by Metallica

Malzahn’s offenses are high-octane. “Fuel” fits well.

Jim McElwain, Florida: JAWS theme song

This one is also too easy.

Kirby Smart, Georgia: “God, Your Mama and Me” by Florida-Georgia Line

Just seems like it fits the good ol’ boy Kirby Smart.

Mark Stoops, Kentucky: “Overshadowed” by Ashlee Simpson

Stoops, like Ashlee Simpson, is overshadowed by an older sibling. Unlike Stoops, Simpson wrote a song about it.

Ed Orgeron, LSU: “Born On The Bayou” by Creedence Clearwater Revival

This is just too perfect.

Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss: “It Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy

Under the NCAA’s cloud, this song fits Freeze perfectly.

Dan Mullen, Mississippi State: “Where The Streets Have No Name” by U2

It was Mullen’s idea, so we give him what he wants.

Barry Odom, Missouri: “Mr. Jones” by Mike Jones

Entering his second season, nobody still knows who Barry Odom is.

Will Muschamp, South Carolina: “Boom” by P.O.D

Coach Boom brings the Boom.

Butch Jones, Tennessee: “We Are The (Life) Champions” by Queen

We tried to find a kid’s version, because Freddie Mercury is probably too cool for Butch Jones.

Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M: “It’s The End Of The World” by R.E.M.

It feels like Sumlin is on his last stand in College Station.

Derek Mason, Vanderbilt: “Unlock The Swag” by Rae Sremmurd

Mason is the swag-master, and he was the talk of Tuesday.
