Danny Kanell digested an intense Week 4 of the college football season and released a new top 12 on Sunday morning that featured 6 SEC teams.
The CBS Sports college football analyst had Miami at the top of his list, after the Hurricanes dispatched Florida on Saturday night to remain unbeaten. Right behind Miami was the first SEC team in his rankings, Oklahoma, which outlasted Auburn in an SEC thriller on Saturday in Norman. Oregon was at No. 3 after pounding rival Oregon State on Saturday, with Ohio State at No. 4 after a bye week and LSU filling out Kanell’s top 5.
Coming in at No. 6 was Ole Miss after its easy victory over Tulane, which sets up a Week 5 showdown on Saturday in Oxford between the Rebels and LSU. The battle of SEC unbeatens will kick it off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
Kanell had Georgia at No. 7, with the Bulldogs enjoying a bye week before their Week 5 showdown at home against Alabama. Next at No. 8 was Florida State, followed by Vanderbilt, which put up 70 points on Saturday night against Georgia State in getting to 4-0. The last SEC team on Kanell’s list was No. 10 Texas A&M, which also had a bye in Week 4 and will host Auburn on Saturday in yet another SEC showdown.
