Former Florida State quarterback Danny Kanell updates his personal top 12 in college football every Sunday morning, and the co-host of Dusty and Danny on CBS Sports HQ dropped another edition that included 5 SEC schools and some notable omissions.
Kanell ranks defending national champion Ohio State as his No. 1 team and has Ole Miss at No. 4 after the Rebels’ 24-19 victory over LSU. He then ranks Texas A&M at No. 6 following the Aggies’ 16-10 victory against Auburn.
The pundit places idle Oklahoma at No. 7 and resurgent Vanderbilt at No. 8 – as the Commodores held off Utah State 55-35 for their first 5-0 state since 2008. Kanell then ranks Missouri at No. 11 after the Tigers thumped UMass 42-6.
Notably absent from Kanell’s top 12 is Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia – all 1-loss SEC teams with arguably better resumes than Mizzou.
