Danny Kanell is never one to shy away from voicing his opinion when it comes to college football season. With the season entering the final week of the regular season next week, the College Football Playoff rankings are now more important than they have been all season.

Next week is Rivalry Week, with many of the top teams in the country having to take on a rival that would love nothing more than to put a huge dent in their rival’s conference championship hopes, as well as their CFP chances.

Kanell posted his top 12 rankings heading into Week 13, and it isn’t that much different from the CFP rankings.

Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M are all ranked in the top 3, but Ohio State and Texas A&M both have road games against their biggest rival. The Buckeyes will be traveling to Ann Arbor, looking to end a four-game losing streak against Michigan. The Aggies on the other hand, will be traveling to Austin, having lost four of the last five matchups against the Texas Longhorns, including last year’s 17-7 game in College Station.

Every season, ‘Rivalry Week’ plays a huge role in the CFP race, and this year figures to be no different.
