Dedan Thomas Jr., 4-star 2024 PG from Las Vegas, includes SEC school in top 6

Dedan Thomas Jr. is one of the top point guard prospects in the country among the class of 2024. The 4-star recruit from the Las Vegas area is ranked No. 3 at his position by 247Sports’ composite rankings, is considered No. 1 in the state of Nevada, and is rated No. 30 overall nationally.

On Monday, Thomas announced his Top 6. As you can see below, and one SEC school—Florida—is among them, along with Arizona, Gonzaga, Houston, UNLV, and UCLA:

There’s an interesting twist in Thomas’ recruitment, too. According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Mark Anderson on Wednesday, Thomas could opt to reclassify to the 2023 recruiting class and enter college a year earlier than planned.

“I’m exploring all my options right now. A couple of schools do want me to go a year early just so I can get my body ready and stuff like that,” he told Anderson.
