Deion Burks and the Oklahoma Sooners entered Saturday needing to win against LSU to all but clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff. However, it has been tougher than expected against a LSU team that isn’t playing for much more other than pride.
The Sooners were trailing 10-3 in the third quarter against LSU, when the Sooners playmaker made a huge play as he took a wide receiver screen 45 yards to tie the game at 10.
Oklahoma’s offense has struggled all throughout the season, as quarterback John Mateer has struggled since he returned from a hand injury. In the first three quarters against LSU, Mateer threw three interceptions.
The Sooners have been led by their defense throughout the 2025 season, and Saturday was no different. On the Tigers lone touchdown, the drive started in Oklahoma territory after John Mateer threw an interception.
