Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders shocked the college football when he plucked the No. 1 player in the country, Travis Hunter, from Florida State and talked him into joining him at JSU.

But with that being said, there were a lot of rumors that the reason why Hunter joined Sanders was that he was going to sign some big NIL deal. According to Sanders, that’s far from the truth.

โ€œWe ainโ€™t got no money! A million and a half!? Thatโ€™s the biggest lie Iโ€™ve ever heard,” Sanders said. “You know what that is? That means we kicked your butt. We took what was ours and now you gotta make up an excuse.โ€

Seminole fans were in such a tizzy Wednesday over losing Hunter that some wanted to fire current FSU head coach Mike Norvell.

Sanders’ Tiger team went 11-1 this season, won the SWAC, and will be heading to the Celebration Bowl. Meanwhile, Florida State finished the year with a 5-7 record.
