Former Auburn linebacker Derick Hall made another huge play in the second half of Super Bowl LX on Sunday night.
Hall is having one of the best games of his career on the biggest stage possible. In the first quarter, he sacked Patriots quarterback Drake Maye to stall an early New England drive.
Then, as the third quarter was winding down, Hall got to Maye again — and this time punched the ball free as well. Here’s a clip, which featured former Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy II on the recovery:
Seattle already had a 12-0 lead when this play occurred, but was able to extend its advantage thanks to the advantageous field position. Sam Darnold found AJ Barner in the end zone a few plays later to put the Seahawks up by 19 points.
Here’s a clip of Barner’s TD:
Hall is in his third season in the NFL after starring for Auburn as one of the SEC’s best pass rushers from 2019-22. He had 2 sacks all season for Seattle coming into Super Bowl Sunday.
