Former LSU Tigers linebacker Devin White, who has spent 7 seasons in the NFL with several different teams and won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has signed a deal to play for the Detroit Lions. Detroit officially announced his signing on Saturday evening.
With that, White is heading back to the NFC after spending the last season with the Las Vegas Raiders. He had a great season with the Raiders too, totaling 174 tackles, 95 solo tackles (the 3rd most in the league) with 2.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 interception. By many accounts, it was the most productive season of his career to date from an individual standpoint.
White started his career in 2019 after being selected 5th overall by the Tampa Bay Bucs. He spent 5 seasons in Tampa, winning Super Bowl LV in his second year. After a strong 5 seasons with the Bucs, White landed with the Houston Texans, but he only played 7 games with Houston before playing for the Raiders in 2025.
For his career, White has played in 100 games and totaled 759 tackles, 474 solo tackles, 25.5 sacks, 7 forced fumbles, 4 interceptions and 24 pass deflections. He earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2021.
