Dick Vitale sees another Joe Burrow in high-profile quarterback

Dick Vitale does not only focus on college basketball. The well-known ESPN analyst keeps up with all sports, including college football, and even is aware of some of the high-profile players.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers captured the attention of Vitale over the weekend after he found Wyoming transfer Isaiah Neyor for a 62-yard touchdown in the Texas spring game on Saturday. Ewers is competing with Hudson Card for the starting quarterback job, but coach Steve Sarkisian has not yet named a starter.
“Both guys really had some flash plays,” Sarkisian said. “Whether it’s throwing down the field or orchestrating drives in the red area. And we saw some plays I think both guys would love to have back.”
Some of the takeaways from the spring game from the Austin American-Statesman summarized Ewers’ afternoon this way:
We all wanted to see the Ohio State transfer fling it. And he did. Ewers showed that he’s not reluctant to pull the trigger, a high-risk, high-reward thrower who should have his fair share of wow plays and big gainers as well as head-scratching mistakes. He’s got the arm, but not yet the sharp accuracy, and he’s not afraid to swing for the home run.
Ewers’ only real miscue was a bad throw over the middle that made for an easy interception by Anthony Cook.
Just saw this clip on @TexasFootball QB transfer from @OhioStateFB @QuinnEwers & as a college football fan a thought flashed. Could this be a deja vu @JoeyB ? https://t.co/poFFAh4JtL
