It didn’t take long for Justin Fields to impress TE Isaac Nauta: ‘(Fields) has a cannon’

Every season, elite high school recruits arrive to college and fail to immediately live up to their massive hype. While Justin Fields has a long way to go before he lives up to the hype on the field when it really matters, he’s managed to immediately turn heads this spring in Athens.
Just ask his tight end, Isaac Nauta.
During Nauta’s recent media availability, the Bulldog tight end was asked about his initial impression of Fields. Did anything jump out at him when he first got a look at the touted freshman signal caller on the once he arrived on campus?
“Absolutely. He has a cannon. He’s a big physical kid. He’s a really good kid, too,” Nauta said. “I like the way he acts, his demeanor. Doesn’t’ have too big of a head — very level-headed. Coming into a place like this, that’s the way you gotta be. I’m excited to see what he can do.”
Fields wasn’t the only early enrollee that impressed, either. According to the junior tight end, all the new faces on the roster have come in ready to work.
“Those guys work hard. They have a good mentality,” he added. “With guys coming in early, you are able to learn quicker from the older guys. You don’t have that lull when the new guys come in, because you’ve been here and you’ve been grinding and you’re about to go through your first spring ball. They all have a good head on their shoulders and I’m excited to see them get after it.”
That’s good news for Georgia, as the program said goodbye to so many veterans this offseason. There’s plenty of opportunities to go around in Athens this offseason. Good thing for Georgia fans there’s so much talent on hand to take advantage of it.
