DJ Lagway will be one of the quarterbacks to watch in 2025. And with the NIL commitments he’s already landed, he’s looking to give back.
On Saturday — International Women’s Day — the Florida signal caller announced that he would pledge a donation to the Florida Victorious NIL collective to benefit women’s sports on the university campus. The specific amount was not made public, but Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger reported it to be a 6-figure amount.
“I am truly inspired by these women. Their passion pushes me to go harder every single day. Because of this, I want to show my appreciation for everything that they do, and encourage others to do the same,” Lagway said. “That’s why I’ve decided to personally make a contribution to our Florida Victorious women athletes.”
Several Florida women’s sports programs have been enjoying another strong year. The softball team, fresh off another Women’s College World Series appearance, is ranked Top 5 in the country. The women’s lacrosse team is off to a 4-2 start after a Final Four a season ago. Volleyball made it to the Sweet 16 in the fall.
Now, with Lagway’s pledge, those programs — along with others — will look to do even more and add to the success the university enjoys year in and year out.
