Eli Drinkwitz on Tuesday announced that one of Mizzou‘s veteran defensive backs has redshirted and has departed the program.
Caleb Flagg, who joined the program in 2024, is no longer with the team. Flagg will have 1 year of eligibility remaining.
Flagg spent his first 2 seasons at the FCS level as he played for Houston Christian in 2022 and 2023. While with the Huskies, he was credited with 101 tackles and a pair of interceptions, including a pick-6. He also totaled 11 passes defensed.
In 2024, he entered the transfer portal and ended up at Mizzou, joining his brother, Corey, who had spent 4 seasons at Miami before coming to Columbia. In 11 games that year, the younger Flagg made 20 tackles and forced a fumble.
Through the first 4 games of the 2025 season, Flagg made 4 tackles and 2 PDs, including one stop in a Week 4 win against South Carolina. That ultimately will stand as the final game of his career at Mizzou, though.
The Tigers’ most recent win put them at 4-0 to start the year, their 3rd straight 4-0 start. Eli Drinkwitz‘s team will look to move to 5-0 for the second time in 3 seasons as they host UMass in Week 5.
