Eli Drinkwitz and Mizzou will look for a third straight 4-0 start as they welcome South Carolina to Faurot Field on Saturday.

There’s a chance LaNorris Sellers might not make the trip, though, after suffering a concussion during the Gamecocks’ Week 3 loss to Vanderbilt.

Ask Drinkwitz, though, and he feels that Sellers will see the field.

“I anticipate LaNorris to play,” the Tigers’ head coach said on Tuesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Eli Hoff.

Sellers was considered by some to be a Heisman Trophy contender after an outstanding redshirt freshman season in 2024. The Gamecocks went 9-4, including Top 25 wins over Texas A&M, Mizzou, and Clemson. At the time of his departure against Vandy, Sellers was 6-of-7 for 94 yards and an interception.

Luke Doty, a member of the team since 2020, took over and went 18-of-27 for 148 yards and an INT the rest of the way, while running 9 times for 20 yards.

South Carolina’s win over Mizzou in 2024, a 34-30 victory, snapped a 5-game losing streak against the Tigers. Sellers was 21-of-30 for 353 yards and 5 touchdowns while rushing for 45 yards on 14 carries.

Meanwhile, Eli Drinkwitz‘s Tigers improved to 3-0 with a 52-10 Week 3 win over Louisiana. They have averaged 51.6 points so far in 2025.
