One of the top quarterback prospects in the Class of 2028 is set on staying home.
Kingston Preyear is already rated as one of the top players in the state of Alabama for 2028. On Friday, the blue-chip quarterback announced that he plans to play for Kalen DeBoer‘s Crimson Tide.
Out of Alexander City (Alabama) Benjamin Russell High School, Preyear is currently listed as measuring 6-4 and 200 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Preyear is rated 4-stars, the No. 3 player in the Yellowhammer State, No. 4 quarterback and No. 44 prospect overall in the 2028 recruiting class.

Even though it’s early in the 2028 recruiting cycle, with two more seasons of high school ahead, Preyear has been widely recruited. He already has 25 scholarship offers, with Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mizzou, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee among the schools to show interest.
For Friday’s decision, it came down to Alabama, Florida and Vanderbilt. Preyear told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals that the best in Alabama stay in the state.
With Preyear on board, Alabama already has 5 commitments for 2028. Tide fans who don’t already follow Benjamin Russel can get a preview of what he brings to Tuscaloosa in two years by checking out his Hudl highlight reel below:
