Arguably, the biggest game on deck for Week 6 in all of college football is the highly anticipated rematch between the No. 16 Vanderbilt Commodores and the No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide.
The 2 sides met last season in Nashville, where Diego Pavia and the Commodores handed the Tide one of the most shocking upsets in recent memory, knocking off the then No. 1-ranked team in the country 40-35.
Now, Vanderbilt will be looking to pull off the upset once again, and this time, they will be going on the road into the iconic Bryant-Denny Stadium to do so.
So much is riding on this pivotal SEC tilt this Saturday, and the crew over on ESPN’s Get Up sat down on Thursday morning to make their picks for who the winner will end up being.
Josh Pate, Will Compton, and Greeny all picked the Tide to roll, but Taylor Lewan was the lone man to choose the Commodores to pick up the upset win once again.
“Kalen DeBoer is 0-1 against quarterbacks that talk trash about him in the offseason, and he’s about to become 0-2,” Lewan explained. “You watch the Alabama and Georgia game, what they had a hard time with was containment in the run game on the edges. That’s exactly what Pavia wants to do. No doubt that Alabama is the better football team (from last season), but so is Vanderbilt, and I believe that they have their number this weekend.”
Regardless of who ends up coming out on top, this is likely to be another very tight matchup between 2 foes who slugged it out last season.
