The Texas A&M Aggies were a win away from an unbeaten regular season and a spot in the SEC Championship Game last season under coach Mike Elko. Unfortunately for Aggie faithful, the squad lost to the rival Texas Longhorns in the final week, then went on to lose in Round 1 of the College Football Playoff to eventual-runner-up Miami.
Still, the future is looking good in College Station, and this 2026 Texas A&M squad should be strong. Despite losing WR KC Concepcion to the Cleveland Browns in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft, the receiver room is still a position of strength.
ESPN recently put together a list of strengths and weaknesses for each early top 25 squad for this fall, and analyst Dave Wilson explained why the Aggie receivers should be just fine without Concepcion:
Strength: Receivers.ย The Aggies loseย KC Concepcion, a … first-round NFL draft pick, but are deeper this year, adding the 6-4ย Isaiah Hortonย from Alabama alongside last year’s breakout starย Mario Craver.ย Ashton Bethel-Romanย andย Terry Busseyย are both expected to take big leaps and a freshman class led by Aaron Gregory has impressed in spring.
Craver was a top-tier receiver for the Aggies last year and Horton was a machine in the red zone for Alabama, so that’s a good duo to start with. Add in returning QB Marcel Reed and the A&M offense should be a force.
Will the Aggies make a run to their first-ever SEC title game this year? Here’s what the latest Kalshi market says:
