ESPN’s FPI predicts the outcome for every game on LSU’s 2026 schedule
Few programs in college football history have been under the microscope that Lane Kiffin and LSU will experience this fall, as a myriad of offseason storylines have led to the program becoming one of the most polarizing in the sport.
With the Bayou Bengals’ much-anticipated home opener against Clemson looming on Sept. 5, ESPN’s Football Power Index updated its projections for each of LSU’s games this fall.
FPI gives Kiffin’s squad at least a 50% chance to win in 11 of its 12 matchups, with the lone outlier being a Nov. 14 home date with Texas.
- Sept 5: Clemson Tigers | 75.3% chance to win
- Sept 12: Louisiana Tech Bulldogs | 98.0% chance to win
- Sept 19: Ole Miss Rebels | 55.9% chance to win
- Sept 26: Texas A&M Aggies | 56.6% chance to win
- Oct 3: McNeese Cowboys | 99.8% chance to win
- Oct 10: Kentucky Wildcats | 81.5% chance to win
- Oct 17: Mississippi State Bulldogs | 89.0% chance to win
- Oct 24: Auburn Tigers | 67.3% chance to win
- Nov 7: Alabama Crimson Tide | 56.2% chance to win
- Nov 14: Texas Longhorns | 36.0% chance to win
- Nov 21: Tennessee Volunteers | 57.9% chance to win
- Nov 28: Arkansas Razorbacks | 84.0% chance to win
Overall, the metric believes that LSU will emerge victorious in 8.57 out of its 12 games on average.
LSU and Clemson will kick off the season in Week 1.
