ESPN college football analyst Heather Dinich follows the College Football Playoff committee as much as any analyst in the sport. She understands what they are thinking, and can see where they could be going as the season continues to head on.

After the CFP rankings were announced on Tuesday night, Dinich believes there is a scenario where the SEC could potentially have 5 teams make the CFP.

“When you look at this bracket, you see the SEC in great shape with four teams at the top there that should be locks,” Dinich said on ‘Get Up’. “Don’t count out the opportunity of a fifth team sneaking into this. Texas and Oklahoma are right on the bubble.Texas has a chance to play Georgia, this thing could still get even wider in terms of the SEC’s participation.”

Currently, Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss are all in great shape to make it, while Texas and Oklahoma No. 11 and 12 in the rankings, seeds in the bracket that could go to conference champions from the American and ACC.

Both Texas and Oklahoma have some huge games remaining on the schedule that are going to determine if those teams make it or not. The Longhorns have matchups at Georgia and against Texas A&M remaining on the season, while Oklahoma still goes to Alabama and has home games against Missouri and LSU.

This was only the first week of the CFP rankings, and there is still another month to go. However, the fact that the SEC has so many teams in great position to make it is only going to rile fans up across the rest of the country.
