Week 7 of SEC action has arrived, and there are several interesting matchups on deck for this Saturday’s slate of action, including a meeting between the No. 12 Tennessee Volunteers and the Arkansas Razorbacks at the iconic Neyland Stadium.
This will be the first time these 2 SEC mainstays have met on Rocky Top since the 2015 campaign, and there will be a ton of postseason implications riding on the outcome for the Vols as they attempt to navigate their way back to the College Football Playoff for the second straight year.
ESPN analyst Bill Connelly dropped his Week 7 SP+ projections earlier this week, and his model had Tennessee handling their business at home against the Razorbacks.
The SP+ is a predictive model that takes a number of statistics and historical trends and uses them to craft power rankings for ESPN and project the outcome of any given game from week to week.
According to Connelly’s projections for this week, the SP+ has the Vols knocking off the Hogs at home by a final score of 36-22, and moving to 5-1 ahead of their pivotal meeting with Alabama in Week 8.
If Tennessee takes care of business here like the SP+ believes it will, then the Third Saturday in October will once again become the biggest game of the SEC regular season.
