One of the top players out of the state of Florida is heading to Gainesville.

On Tuesday, 4-star wide receiver Elias Pearl announced that he will attend Florida, committing to head coach Jon Sumrall over offers from Georgia, Florida State, LSU and many more top programs. The 5-foot-11 speedster thrives out of the slot and gives Florida its 3rd highest-rated prospect of the 2027 cycle so far.

That’s saying a lot, too. The Gators currently hold the No. 7 overall class in the 2027 after Pearl’s commitment, which ranks behind only Texas A&M and Oklahoma in the SEC. The only players ranked higher than Pearl among Florida’s additions thus far are 5-star OL Maxwell Hiller and 4-star OT Elijah Hutcheson.

Pearl is the 3rd wide receiver addition for the Gators in this class so far, joining 3-star WR Anthony Jennings and 4-star receiver Tramond Collins.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Pearl is considered to be the No. 90 overall prospect in the Class of 2027, as well as the No. 16 wide receiver and No. 10 player out of the talent-rich Sunshine State.
