Florida will open its 2025 football season on Saturday at The Swamp against Long Island, which has the chance to turn into a snoozer if the Gators have their wish.

But 2 nights before Florida begins its much-anticipated season, a certain Gators fan attending the South Florida-Boise State game in Tampa got an early start on that snoozefest thing. Perhaps we should blame this on No. 25 Boise State, a College Football Playoff team last year, getting off on the wrong foot this season against the Bulls on the ESPN stage.

Without star running back Ashton Jeanty, who is now in the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders, the Broncos struggled mightily to even score on Thursday night, and with exactly 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter and USF leading 31-7, a Florida fan who made the trip to Tampa struggled mightily to stay awake.

In fact, the fan couldn’t, dozing off on the shoulder of her significant other, who had managed to stay awake that late into the Thursday night snoozefest that had developed.

Here is the hilarious but telling snapshot that went viral as the Bulls were putting away the Broncos in the 4th quarter:

We’re not sure if that sleeping Florida fan woke up to see USF add to its 31-7 lead with a field goal with 3:29 left, making the score 34-7. That would be the final score, and assuming the couple made it through to the end, they could finally leave Raymond James Stadium and get some real sleep, maybe dreaming about the Gators’ season opener on Saturday night.

It was an interesting night indeed for this Florida-crazy couple, as a media member pointed out on social media:

Whatever games get out of hand as the season progresses, this image on national TV will surely be embedded in many fans’ minds as we go through the 2025 season.
