Florida is one step closer to potentially landing its quarterback of the future.
Florida was officially named a finalist for 4-star quarterback Lukas Prock on Saturday evening. The Gators were the only SEC team to make the cut, but are joined by Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and Indiana in Prock’s top 5.
Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett was first to report this development on Saturday:

Prock is a major target for Florida and is one of the best high school quarterback recruits in the nation. He’s currently regarded as the No. 69 overall player and the No. 6 passer for the class of 2028, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
While Florida is the only SEC school to make his top 5, plenty of other SEC programs such as Georgia and LSU entered the mix by offering Prock a scholarship in recent months. UF initially offered Prock a scholarship back on April 20.
Prock attends The Hun School of Princeton in New Jersey. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds.
While there’s still more than a year to go before the class of 2028 can sign on the dotted line, quarterbacks often commit early on in their recruiting cycles. It seems Prock will be no different, although he has not publicly announced a commitment date.
Florida currently has just one commitment in its 2028 class โ 4-star receiver Armani Strong.
