Florida State picked up a big recruiting win on Sunday.

Chauncey Kennon is staying home to play for FSU. The blue-chip defensive back from Sarasota verbally pledged to take his talents to Tallahassee.

Out of Booker High School, Kennon is listed as measuring 6-2 and 185 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Kennon is rated 4-stars, the No. 8 cornerback, No. 9 player in the state of Florida and No. 67 prospect in the Class of 2026.

As one of the top defensive backs in the Sunshine State, Kennon drew notable interest. During his recruitment, he picked up scholarship offers from 37 programs, including Auburn, Michigan, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, Penn State and Texas A&M.

For his big decision, Kennon named a final 6 of Florida State, Oregon, Florida, Miami, LSU and Georgia.

With Kennon on board, Florida State is up to 22 commitments in its 2026 recruiting class, which ranks No. 11 nationally on the Composite.
