Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos’s 2025 season didn’t quite go according to plan. Despite beating Alabama in Tallahassee to open the season and starting 3-0, the Seminoles lost seven of their last nine to end with a 5-7 mark.

Castellanos, though, will look to continue his career at the next level. He announced on his X account on Tuesday afternoon that he will declare for the 2026 NFL Draft. Castellanos thanked both Florida State and his previous stop, Boston College, in his post.

Castellanos threw for a career-high 2,760 yards with the Seminoles in 2025, adding 15 touchdowns and tossing nine interceptions. He also ran for 557 yards and nine touchdowns on 137 carries.

He transferred to Florida State after two seasons at Boston College. He combined for 3,614 yards and 33 touchdowns through the air while at BC, adding 1,113 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground in 2023. After the 2024 season, the Eagles’ first under Bill O’Brien, Castellanos entered the transfer portal and signed with Florida State.

Castellanos’s career began at UCF in 2022 under Gus Malzahn. He appeared in five games with the Knights and was part of a quarterback room that included John Rhys Plumlee.
