The Florida Gators kick off the Jon Sumrall era on Saturday, Sept. 5 against the Florida Atlantic Owls. And on Monday, the Gators released their first depth chart of the 2026 season.

The depth chart has minimal ORs in place, as it seems most of the position battles have been ironed out entering game week. Notably, the edge rusher position is still a 3-man battle between Kamran James, LJ McCray and Emmanuel Oyebadejo. On the offensive end, perhaps the most interesting note is that Micah Mays and Kahleil Jackson are battling for a second-string position behind Dallas Wilson.

As announced last week, Aaron Philo is listed as Florida’s starting quarterback against the Owls, having beaten out Tramell Jones for the starting role.

Here’s a look at the full depth chart:

Sumrall addressed reporters regarding the depth chart on Monday. He let reporters know that he’s brutally honest with the players in the locker room, which would explain the lack of ORs on the depth chart.

ย โ€œWeโ€™re really direct,” Sumrall said. “I donโ€™t hide things from our players. Iโ€™m brutally honestโ€ฆ if you like the truth, you are going to love being around me. If you donโ€™t like the truth, you are going to hate being around me.”
