Florida and Georgia will meet up on Saturday for their annual rivalry game in Jacksonville.

This year’s game will have a bit of a different feel to it as the Gators will have an interim head coach. Florida is the underdog, but Georgia can’t afford any lapses in concentration as it looks to build its College Football Playoff résumé. Both teams should be well-rested as they were both idle in Week 9.

Florida vs. Georgia preview

Here’s what you should know about both teams coming in to this game:

Florida football notes

  • This will be Florida’s first game since firing Billy Napier as head coach. Wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales has been installed as the interim.
  • DJ Lagway has been underwhelming this season after what we saw from the former 5-star a year ago. Lagway’s average depth of target is just 7.9 yards, per PFF, and he’s already thrown 9 interceptions this season.
  • Jadan Baugh gets almost all high-leverage usage in Florida’s backfield. He has 117 carries this season. The next-closest UF running back has 37. He has a 46% rushing success rate this year, per Game on Paper.
  • Dallas Wilson didn’t make his season debut until the Texas game on Oct. 4. Since then, Wilson leads all Florida receivers in both targets (20) and snaps (81). He’s been limited to 5 catches for 56 yards over the past 2 weeks but is an enormous part of what the Gators want to do on offense.
  • Florida’s defense has been pretty good this season, particularly against the run. The Gators rank 20th nationally in rush defense success rate.
  • Florida does have a shutdown cornerback in Devin Moore. Per PFF, Moore has only conceded 8 catches on 17 targets this season and has yet to give up a touchdown.

Georgia football notes

  • Georgia has won 3 straight games since losing to Alabama on Sept. 27. Two of those wins (against Auburn and Ole Miss) required second-half comebacks. UGA also has an overtime win over Tennessee on its ledger.
  • Gunner Stockton has been solid this season. The Bulldogs rank 5th nationally in passing success rate, per Game on Paper. Stockton himself is 35th in passer efficiency rating and has a 10-to-1 TD-to-INT ratio.
  • Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens get most of the work out of the backfield. Frazier has had fumbling problems in the past, but he hasn’t put the ball on the turf in several weeks. His last fumble was in Week 5. Since then, Frazier and Bowens are nearly 50-50 on snaps and rush attempts (Frazier has 5 more of each).
  • Zachariah Branch has led Georgia in targets by a wide margin in recent weeks. His profile carries a high catch rate (21 of 23 receptions since Week 6) but also somewhat limited upside (2.4 yards average depth of target over the same span).
  • Georgia will be without Colbie Young for the foreseeable future after he suffered an injury against Ole Miss. Young was UGA’s most-used outside receiver before going down (Branch typically lines up in the slot). Noah Thomas is a candidate to get more playing time with Young on the shelf.
  • Georgia’s secondary has been an issue this season. The Bulldogs 89th in pass defense success rate this year, per Game on Paper.
  • The lack of pass rush has been glaring for Georgia at times. The Bulldogs are dead last in the SEC in both tackles for loss (27) and sacks (8) in 2025.
  • Per PFF, Gabe Harris leads all Georgia edge rushers in pressures with 8. Among SEC edge rushers, he ranks 46th.

Florida vs. Georgia picks

Here are a couple of DFS picks for the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party

London Humphreys higher than 25.5 receiving yards on Underdog

I mentioned Noah Thomas as someone who could see more playing time in the wake of Colbie Young’s injury, but London Humphreys fits that bill as well. Humphreys has lined up in an outside position for about 80% of his snaps this year, per PFF. He was averaging about 2.5 targets per game before Young’s injury. It wouldn’t shock me if that number doubles this week. I think his receiving yardage projection on Underdog Fantasy is too low right now.

DJ Lagway higher than 230.5 passing yards on Sleeper

I like this projection from Sleeper Fantasy. I think Lagway and this entire Florida offense should be healthier coming out of the bye week. Georgia really struggles to get pressure without blitzing, which should give Lagway time to find open receivers down field. With Billy Napier out, Florida’s new offensive coordinator is quarterbacks coach Ryan O’Hara. I expect Gonzales and O’Hara will have an aggressive game plan for the Bulldogs — they have nothing to lose — and we could see Lagway’s passing yardage total go way over this projection.
