Former Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland has been traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Bills announced the move on their team website Monday afternoon.

Ragland was a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He is being traded to the Chiefs in exchange for a 2019 fourth-round pick.

“Raglandโ€™s place on the Bills roster looked precarious at best,” the web site stated. “He slipped from second string to third string linebacker in Buffaloโ€™s defense during training camp and on Saturday in Baltimore logged just three snaps on defense.”

Between a torn ACL and a switch from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defensive scheme, Ragland apparently just “looked a bit out of place.”

In his college days, Ragland shined as an inside linebacker for the Crimson Tide. From 2012 to 2015, he racked up 220 career tackles and was a part of two national championship teams.
