Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith entered the Buckeyes’ game against Oregon on Saturday as the Heisman Trophy favorite.

After the Buckeyes fell to the Ducks 41-28 at home for their second-straight loss, there are questions about his future with the program. On CBS Sports in the postgame, former Alabama RB Damien Harris said there’s no reason for Smith to ever play for the Buckeyes again.

You can see his comments below, where he makes the case for Smith to sit out the rest of the year:

“We just watched Jeremiah Smith play his last snap at Ohio State,” Harris says in the postgame video above. “He’s done. He’s going to pack it up. He’s not playing anymore this season. The season is gone. We saw this isn’t a College Football Playoff team. They were already on the outside looking in. The season’s over. He’s already etched his name in history. He’s got the touchdown record. He’s got the reception record. He’s got a national championship. He’s not going to get the Heisman this year. What’s there to play for? …

“In my opinion, there’s nothing to gain and there’s everything to lose if you’re Jeremiah Smith. I don’t think he plays again. I don’t think he plays again the rest of the season for Ohio State.”

Smith dominated the game against Oregon, catching 7 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. If he does opt out of the rest of the year, he’ll leave a lasting legacy in Columbus.
