The transfer portal window is set to officially open on Jan. 2nd, and plenty of big names from around the country have already declared their intentions to depart from their current programs in hopes of better opportunities elsewhere.
One name that is sure to stand out to Alabama fans is former Crimson Tide tight end Ty Lockwood, who departed from Tuscaloosa last offseason following 2 seasons with the team.
Lockwood ended up transferring to Boston College following his departure from the Tide, and he will now be looking to join his third program in as many seasons, according to a post on his personal X account.
This latest move comes after Lockwood saw minimal action for the Eagles in 2025, only managing to haul in 2 passes for 30 yards in the 11 games he appeared in for head coach Bill O’Brien’s squad.
The rangy pass catcher was a highly sought-after 4-star recruit in the 2023 cycle, holding 24 offers from around the nation, and being committed to Ohio State for over a year before decommitting and joining Alabama under Nick Saban.
Lockwood was unable to carve out a role for himself at his first 2 stops, but he still has 2 years of eligibility left to do so for whatever program he ends up deciding on next.
