Former Auburn defensive back Rudy Ford is among the cuts made by the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, as teams prepare to trim rosters down to 53 players by Tuesday afternoon.
Ford did play a small defensive role but was reduced to a player the team only saw in a special teams role according to the report, which also said that there was a trade market for Ford but that has $2 million salary was “prohibitive.”
It will be interesting to see what happens with him now available on the open marker. Ford finished out his college career at Auburn with 276 total tackles (171 solo) with seven passes defended, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and one touchdown.
